The Himalayan Trust is pleased to announce the appointment of John Loof as General Manager.
John has been in the not-for-profit sector for 18 years and brings considerable experience from his former roles at the Cancer Society Auckland and the SPCA.
He is also a past Board Chair at Western Springs College in Auckland.
Himalayan Trust Chair, Mike Gill, said: “The Board selected John from a strong field of applicants after a two-month recruitment process. John’s experience and personality stood out and we look forward to exciting and progressive times ahead under his leadership, particularly with the centenary of Sir Ed’s birth next year. A feature of the selection interviews was the continuation of the uniquely high regard of New Zealand citizens for Sir Ed and his Himalayan Trust.”
John said: “The Himalayan Trust is at the centre of one of the greatest New Zealand stories and I am thrilled to be joining an organisation that has made such a difference to the lives of thousands of people in Nepal.
“It’s an honour to be part of Sir Ed’s incredible legacy.”
John will be joining the Himalayan Trust in early November 2018.
