Entries are now open for The Himalayan Trust Nepal Trek 2017 – Continuing Sir Ed’s Legacy.
Follow in Sir Ed’s footsteps and experience the work of the Himalayan Trust – past and present – on the Himalayan Trust Trek 2017, an 18-day adventure (17 March to 3 April 2017) through the stunning Everest region.
You will trek through the spectacular Everest region, including an ascent of Gokyo Ri, with stunning views of the Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Cho Oyu peaks.
Our local partners will show you around the earthquake rebuild projects at Monjo and Chaurikharka schools, as well as the Lukla and Musey Drinking Water Projects. The money you raise by taking part in the trek will go directly to support these projects so you can expect a very warm welcome!
There will also be an opportunity to work alongside local people on the earthquake rebuild work at Monjo School (weather permitting).
On the trek you will also visit Khumjung school, where Sir Ed built the first classroom more than 50 years ago, and the famous Khunde hospital founded in 1966.
This incredible trek through the Sherpa heartland affords ample time for acclimatisation with opportunities to savour the mountain panoramas from beautiful alpine campsites.
And throughout the trek, you will experience the legendary warmth of the Sherpa people, which drew Sir Ed back to this region time after time.
This will be a trip to remember for many years to come!
