There are lots of ways you can get involved and help support the Himalayan Trust’s work with communities in Nepal.
Make a donation: Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world. Over 50% of the country live on $3 a day or less. Your gift today will transform lives by helping to break this cycle of poverty and provide access to quality education, clean water and life-saving health care.
Trek with us: Join a Himalayan Trust trek for a unique opportunity to experience the stunning scenery of the Himalayas, meet the locals and volunteer with a Himalayan Trust project. It’s the adventure of a lifetime!
Join the Summit Challenge: Could you climb the height of Everest in a month to raise funds for Nepal?
Organise a fundraising event: There are loads of fun and creative ways to raise funds, from bake sales to auctions to mufti days. If you would like to organise your own fundraising event, we’d love to hear from you.
Run with us: Running in the Auckland Marathon (or other sports event) is a great way to fundraise for the Himalayan Trust.
Join us on Facebook: Keep up with all the latest news and events.
Saathi is the Nepali word for friend. Become a friend of the people of Nepal by setting up a regular monthly donation to the Himalayan Trust and you’ll help continue Sir Ed’s life-changing work in the Everest region.
Your regular donations will provide long-term, sustainable solutions to bring better health and education to remote communities for many years to come.
Over the years, the Himalayan Trust sent many volunteer doctors and teachers to the Everest region. Those volunteers made an incredible contribution to communities in Nepal. However, we do not currently run any volunteer programmes in Nepal. Wherever possible, we use the skills, experience and talent of local people in the communities.
If you have teaching expertise we can pass on your details to REED, who we work closely with, otherwise we recommend you get in touch with the many worthwhile volunteer organisations out there such as Volunteer Service Abroad.
