An Evening with Sir Ranulph Fiennes
This year, on 20 July 2019, Sir Edmund Hillary would have turned 100. Sir Ed’s centenary year offers a unique opportunity to celebrate our greatest New Zealand hero, his remarkable achievements, his spirit of adventure, his humility, and his “can-do” attitude to helping others.
To mark this anniversary, the Himalayan Trust is holding a special Centenary Gala Dinner in Auckland on 17 July 2019.
Keynote speaker: Sir Ranulph Fiennes
We are excited to announce that our keynote speaker at the Gala Dinner will be Sir Ranulph Fiennes, named by the Guinness Book of Records as ‘the world’s greatest living explorer’. MC: Te Radar
The writer, comedian, satirist, and documentary-maker Te Radar will be the Master of Ceremonies.
Musical entertainment on the evening will be provided by talented young musicians from the University of Waikato.
